Ruf’s Fund to Conserve the War Eagle River is managed through the Arkansas Community Foundation

A Conservation Mission

Ruf's Fund was established in loving memory of W. Rufus Stephens, Jr. This fund is administered through the Arkansas Community Foundation and is dedicated to supporting conservation and environmental causes in the War Eagle watershed in northwest Arkansas. The mission is to support conservation and environmental causes in the War Eagle watershed. Our goal is to encourage and promote sound conservation practices for the War Eagle River and its watershed through education, management, and stewardship.

We are dedicated to improving the quality, quantity, and wildlife habitat of the War Eagle River by fostering healthy riparian, aquatic, and terrestrial systems. Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, we aim to protect and enhance the natural resources of this vital ecosystem.

At Ruf's Fund, we believe in the power of education to inspire change. We strive to educate individuals, communities, and organizations about the importance of conservation and sustainable practices in the War Eagle watershed. By fostering a sense of stewardship, we aim to create a lasting impact on the health and resilience of this cherished river.

We are committed to working hand in hand with local stakeholders, conservationists, and experts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the War Eagle watershed. Together, we can make a difference by preserving the natural beauty, biodiversity, and ecological integrity of this valuable ecosystem for future generations.

Ruf's Fund, through its partnership with the Arkansas Community Foundation, channels resources and support to various conservation projects and organizations dedicated to achieving these objectives. Join us in honoring the legacy of W. Rufus Stephens, Jr. and supporting the conservation efforts in the War Eagle watershed. Together, we can protect and preserve this precious natural resource for years to come.
